Emotional Freedom Technique – Helps Everything From Anxiety to Weight Loss.

Emotional Freedom Technique has been one of my favorite ways to help myself for several years now, and it’s only just dawned on me that I haven’t written about it before (I could have sworn this was buried deep in the vaults of past-posts). So my apologies for being late but this simple technique is absolutely invaluable so better late than never. Continue reading

Grapefruit to Keep the Bugs Away

I’m not sure if anyone else feels like I do, but I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to bugs and bug spray. On one hand, I don’t really like to be bit by mosquitos and other insects, but on the other hand I don’t really want to slather neurotoxins all over my skin. Sadly, the options that are in the typical products we buy are mostly neurotoxins – most notably DEET.

Sore Throat? Soothe it Naturally…

Tis the season, and not in a good way. Spring is here and it’s gorgeous and you’re all excited about being outside – me too! The only problem is that outside is hot then cold then wet then dry and everyone seems to be coming down with some kind of junk. These last couple of days I’ve had a lot of patients, especially the kiddos, with sore throats. Continue reading

The Best Free Immune Boost Ever: Wet Socks.

Wet Socks is an old-time hydrotherapy technique that gives you a great, completely free, non-specific immune boost. This will work to help prevent viruses, bacteria and whatever other crud is coming your way. It’s a way of tricking your body into going on high alert and hunting out any problems that might be brewing. Continue reading

Surviving Cedar Fever

Cedar fever is sort of like the guerrilla warfare version of plain old allergies. Sure some people have runny nose and sneezing and watery eyes, but then there are the other symptoms like extreme fatigue and achy joints and utter inability to function because of all the mucus in your head. Fun! This is allergies Texas-style, so I want to talk a little bit about the natural options. Continue reading

Eczema, Psoriasis, Seborrheic Dermatitis – Natural Relief is Here!

After you get out of the shower, heat your mixture and apply a little bit of the warm liquid to the areas of your skin that need it. This will help to heal and soothe the hurt and itch but also forms a protective layer that will help to prevent infections. It also makes the skin patches look far less angry and less noticeable. The Uses of Lavender

Any lavender can be used as a tea and cooking herb – some are cultivated more for beauty, some for oil, but all work well. I’m amazed by the number of people who pass by these beauties in their front or back yard but don’t appreciate it’s full scope of uses. Although this is not an exhaustive list of it’s uses I will at least share a few of my favorites. Continue reading

Unexpected Heartbreak

I wish I could say it was a rarity, but unfortunately heartbreak, loss and tragedy happen every day. Today I find myself blindsided by unexpected loss, and reeling from it. There is no way to prepare and no really great antidote, but at least I have some supportive tools that I think are useful to share. Here’s to hoping that you don’t face loss, and to being prepared if you do. Continue reading

Austin Allergies – battling the mold.

My first personal experience with allergies has been here in Austin and so this is new for me, but for me the combination of food sensitivity elimination (I’m sensitive to wheat and soy, so those are out of the diet for me), sleep, Natural D-Hist and Xlear gets me through in great shape. Without those I’d be down for the count. Continue reading

Getting rid of the cold that’s brewing

Yes, it’s true. Doctors get sick too. Sort of an occupational hazard when you think about it.

Fortunately I’ve also learned a few tricks to knock it out quickly and easily just as long as I catch it early.
